Everton reportedly paid £25 million to sign Brazil midfielder Allan from Napoli for a 3-year deal

Everton said on Saturday, that the the Premier League club have signed Brazil midfielder Allan from Italian side Napoli on a three-year deal.

It claimed that Everton paid around £25 million to Napoli.

Allan, 29, scored 11 goals and captivated 16 assists in more than 200 appearances for Napoli across all competitions, and assisted them to claim the Coppa Italia last season.

In a club statement, Allan said, “It is a real pleasure to sign for Everton. I am immensely happy to be here.”

“I hope, like I have done in my entire career, I contribute with my performances together with my teammates and that I put in great performances, some great games and achieve important things.”

Selected nine times by Brazil, Allan was part of the squad which won the Copa America in 2019.

Previously, having played under the 61-year-old for two seasons while the Italian was in charge of Napoli, he will be reunited with manager Carlo Ancelotti, at Everton.

Everton have also been negotiating with Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez, as Ancelotti aims to strengthen the Merseyside club’s midfield ahead of the new season.

Everton ended last term in 12th position and begin their new Premier League campaign with a journey to Tottenham Hotspur on Sept. 13.
